The "soon-to-be" refers to the fact that I'm leaving my current employer for another opportunity across town. That means no more WW At Work for me. For now. I'm on my own... and I need WW now more than ever before.
My first round was extremely successful... and then things got a little shaky after declaring "I don't need WW anymore, I can do this by myself!" ... and then I was in an accident which yielded a level of inactivity never experienced by me before. Serious drag. It took several months to get from bed to couch to walker to crutches to cane, and now I am walking assistance-free without a limp, pain-free... and lugging around an extra 15 pounds.
Sure, in the grand scheme, 15 lbs is a small price to pay for such a miraculous recovery. But one doesn't live in the grand scheme. One lives day to day, eating one chocolate kiss at a time, continuously trying to squeeze into clothes she swore she'd never out-grow again, never-ever-ever. ~sigh~
So, with all odds against me (leaving my WW At Work program and support system, entering the New England days of Winter, not to mention middle age; the age of thick middles) I'm resuming what worked so well the first time: Blog my WW food adventures and points, seek WW meeting opportunities near my new place of employ, and lean on my WW buddy for advice and support.
I will not punish myself so harshly as to publish my current weight. That would just be sadistic. Or is that masochistic? I never get those terms straight. But I will of course publish my changes in weight. And when we get to minus-fifteen, I will rejoice, for all things in this world will be good again.
My next entry will include fun pix of food experiments, food package labels with snarky remarks about the ingredients and of course the obligatory pix of my dog Harley and cat Max, collectively known as The Boyz.
This pic taken soon after we rescued Harley who has since put on some much needed weight... and Max, having been on his own kitty diet, has since lost some much
unneeded weight.
